Delmon Young singled home the go-ahead run in the 13th inning to lift the visiting Minnesota Twins to a 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday night.

Young's second hit of the night plated Alexi Casilla as Minnesota snapped a two-game losing streak and remained 1 1/2 games behind the division-leading Chicago White Sox in the American League Central.

Matt Guerrier (2-6) pitched two innings of hitless ball to earn the victory.

Lance Cormier (3-3), who pitched four innings in relief, took the loss as the Rays fell back into a tie atop the AL East with the New York Yankees.

Starters Scott Baker of the Twins and David Price of the Rays hooked up in a stirring pitching duel for the second time this season.

Baker pitched eight scoreless innings of three-hit ball but saw his chance for victory go by the boards when newly acquired closer Matt Capps blew the save in the ninth.

Price failed in his bid for a franchise-record 15th win despite allowing just one run on five hits in seven innings.

The Twins carried a 1-0 lead into the ninth courtesy of Jason Repko's RBI double in the second inning.

Tampa Bay tied it in the ninth when Dan Johnson singled home Evan Longoria, who doubled off Capps to lead off the inning.
