Casey McGehee hit a three-run homer and Randy Wolf struck out eight batters in his Milwaukee debut as the Brewers posted a 7-5 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday.

Rickie Weeks homered and Prince Fielder and Alcides Escobar each drove in a run for the Brewers.

Wolf (1-0) earned the win in his first start with his new team. He allowed four runs on nine hits in 6 2/3 innings, but managed to keep the Rockies guessing.Trevor Hoffman picked up his 592th career save despite allowing the game-tying run to come to bat in the ninth.

McGehee opened the scoring with his first-inning blast and Weeks’ solo shot in the fifth made it 5-3. The Rockies got within 5-4, but Fielder and Escobar pushed it to a three-run margin with singles in the eighth.

Colorado starter Greg Smith (0-1), making his first start in the majors in over a year, took the loss in surrendering five runs in five innings of work.

Ian Stewart hit his second home run in as many days and finished with three hits and Carlos Gonzalez knocked in a pair of runs for the Rockies.
