Cardinals 5, Marlins 2:
Yadier Molina hit a three-run homer in a five-run first as visiting St. Louis won its eighth straight over Miami.

The Cardinals have won five straight overall, scoring 43 runs. Molina, who sent Monday’s game to extra innings with a two-run shot, lined one over the fence in left for his 12th homer after starter Carlos Zambrano (4-6) and shortstop Jose Reyes committed errors in the decisive first inning.

Kyle Lohse (7-2) allowed two runs on four hits over 7 1/3 innings. He improved to 5-1 on the road this season.

Giancarlo Stanton belted his 17th homer and doubled for Miami, which has dropped 17 of 20. Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen was ejected in the seventh for arguing balls and strikes.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Zambrano fell to 12-7 lifetime against the Cards. … Jason Motte earned his 16th save with a perfect ninth. … Carlos Beltran had a first-inning RBI single, giving him 10 RBIs in the team's five-game win streak.
