Padres 8, Astros 7 (10):
Carlos Quentin delivered a one-out RBI double in the top of the 10th inning as San Diego kicked off its 10-game road trip by winning a seesaw battle with Houston.

After having their second lead of the night disappear in the eighth, the Padres took advantage of a gift in the 10th as Chase Headley drew a one-out walk from Brandon Lyon (0-2). Headley stole second base before racing home on Quentin's double over the head of right fielder Brian Bogusevic.

Jesus Guzman erased a 6-5 deficit for San Diego with a two-out, two-run homer in the top of the eighth. Jason Castro forged a 7-7 tie in the bottom half with a two-out solo shot off Luke Gregerson.

Dale Thayer (1-2) tossed a perfect inning for the win and Huston Street worked around a walk in the 10th for his 11th save in as many opportunities.

Brian Bixler and Carlos Lee hit solo homers in the first inning to give Houston an early lead. But San Diego moved ahead as Nick Hundley's two-run double highlighted a four-run second.

The Padres led 5-3 before the Astros rallied to tie it with two in the fourth. Houston grabbed a 6-5 edge in the fifth on Jed Lowrie's RBI double.

Bixler went 2-for-5 and scored three runs while J.D. Martinez had two hits and two RBIs for the Astros, who fell to 3-4 on their 10-game homestand. Houston has scored 22 runs over its last three games after totaling one run over its previous three contests.
