Diamondbacks 3, Marlins 2:
Arizona left-hander Tyler Skaggs pitched into the seventh inning in winning his major-league debut, and Aaron Hill homered and drove in all three runs for the Diamondbacks in the opener of the first doubleheader in Chase Field history.

Skaggs (1-0) outdueled Marlins prospect Jacob Turner, who was called up to make a spot start for the doubleheader. Turner (0-1) allowed three runs on four hits over six innings and struck out five.

Hill staked Skaggs to a 2-0 lead with a blast to left - his 18th - in the first inning, but Justin Ruggiano tied it with his 12th homer an inning later. That was all the Marlins got against Skaggs, who worked around five walks to limit Miami to two runs on three hits over 6 2/3 innings.

Brad Ziegler worked out of a jam to end the seventh, David Hernandez pitched a perfect eighth and J.J. Putz pitched around a two-out single in the ninth for his 25th save.

Arizona leadoff man Gerardo Parra went 2-for-4 and scored on Hill's homer and his RBI single in the third.

Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen was ejected by first base umpire Angel Campos in the third inning.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami's Donovan Solano struck out in the eighth, ending his on-base streak at nine plate appearances - one shy of the franchise record. … Skaggs' outing was the second-longest by a Diamondbacks pitcher in his major-league debut. … Arizona OF Justin Upton, who left Tuesday's game with a hamstring injury, did not play. … Miami's Wade LeBlanc will face Arizona rookie Wade Miley in the second game.
