LaMarcus Aldridge had his fourth straight double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds as the Portland Trail Blazers clinched the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 102-89 victory over the visiting Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night.

Reserves Rudy Fernandez and Nicolas Batum came off the bench to score 18 and 16 points, respectively, to lift Portland (48-33) to its third straight victory and fifth win in six games.

Mike Conley scored 17 points to lead Memphis (46-35), which could have wrapped up the sixth seed by winning its final two games but opted to sit out leading scorer Zach Randolph and starting guard Tony Allen.

The Blazers took advantage by holding the Grizzlies without a basket for more than seven minutes in the third quarter. They turned a four-point deficit into a 74-66 lead behind 10 points from Batum and nine from Gerald Wallace.

Fernandez scored 11 points in the fourth quarter as Portland gradually pulled away.

Memphis can secure the seventh seed Wednesday if its beats the Los Angeles Clippers and New Orleans loses to Dallas.
