Josh Smith led the way with 23 points and 13 rebounds as the Atlanta Hawks bounced back from a tough loss with a 102-96 overtime victory over the host Charlotte Bobcats on Friday.

Marvin Williams chipped in 15 points and nine boards and Al Horford added 15 and seven for the Hawks, who lost in triple overtime to the Miami Heat on Thursday night.

The Bobcats gave Atlanta all it could handle in the fourth quarter. After Smith’s jumper made it 84-75 with 5:39 left, Charlotte rookie Kemba Walker buried a jumper to spark a 10-3 run.

Williams made it a two-possession game with a 3-pointer at the 1:07 mark and had a chance to put the Hawks up by three at the line with 17 seconds left. He split the free throws, leaving the door open for a strange tying basket.

Boris Diaw got credit for a layup when Horford was called for goaltending with six seconds left, tying it 91-91 and sending it to overtime.

Jeff Teague and Joe Johnson buried 3-pointers in the extra session to keep Atlanta clear.

D.J. Augustin collected 21 points and 12 assists for the Bobcats.
