ROCKETS 93, 76ERS 87: Kyle Lowry converted two three-point plays in a 52-second span as Houston won its third straight game and boosted Philadelphia’s season-long losing skid to five games.

Luis Scola had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Kevin Martin scored 14 of his 16 points in the final quarter for the Rockets, who are a season-best six games above .500.

Nikola Vucevic had 18 points and eight rebounds, Lou Williams tallied 17 points and Thaddeus Young added 15 for Philadelphia.

Lowry’s first three-point play gave the Rockets an 86-84 lead with 1:51 remaining. Williams hit one of two free throws 13 seconds later prior to Lowry again producing a three-point play with 59.2 seconds left to give Houston a four-point lead.

Martin hit two free throws with 24.4 seconds left to give the Rockets a 91-85 edge.

Lowry scored 13 points and Chandler Parsons and Patrick Patterson scored 12 points apiece for Houston.

Jodie Meeks scored 14 points for the 76ers, who received just 35 points from their starting five.

The 76ers led 73-67 after Young’s basket with 9:07 left in the third quarter before Martin hit two 3-pointers during an 8-2 run that tied the score.

Houston led by as many as 10 points in the first half. The Rockets held a 45-41 halftime edge.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Philadelphia missed all nine of its 3-point shots … Lowry is averaging 23 points over Houston’s last three games … Sixers forward Elton Brand (thumb) sat out for the second straight night … The double-double was just Scola’s third of the season.
