James has scored 20 or more points in all 24 games to start the season, matching former Jazz star Karl Malone (1989) for the third-longest streak in NBA history. The Heat were without Chris Bosh, who missed the game with the flu.

Marvin Williams scored 16 points and Gordon Hayward added 15 for Utah, which has lost four of its last five games and is just 5-12 on the road.

Miami led 47-43 at halftime and opened up a 20-point lead in the third quarter. Shane Battier, who scored 15 points, hit back-to-back 3-pointers early in the quarter to push the lead to 12, and James’ basket with 4:20 left made it 69-49.

Utah trimmed its deficit to 10 entering the final stanza and pulled within 75-68 on a 3-pointer by Jamaal Tinsley. Wade responded with a dunk that started a 15-6 run as Miami regained control.

GAME NOTEBOOK: James has scored 30 or more points six times this season. … Jazz C Al Jefferson scored six points and has just 10 over Utah’s last two games. … Miami is 13-2 at home.
