Jazz 104, Heat 97: Al Jefferson's 23 points and 11 rebounds guided host Utah past Miami.

Jefferson shot 8-of-14 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line to pace the Jazz, who rode a hot-shooting first half to their sixth win in eight games. Gordon Hayward added 22 points in a reserve role while Paul Millsap had 17 points and nine rebounds.

LeBron James led the way with 32 points for the Heat, who fell to 1-3 on their six-game road trip. Chris Bosh added 16 in defeat.

The Jazz shot a scorching 67.6 percent to take a 59-44 lead into the break, and stayed in control throughout the third quarter. Jefferson's five straight points midway through the period extended the advantage to 18, and Utah led by as many as 21 points before settling for an 84-65 edge entering the fourth.

Miami roared back to open the quarter, closing to within seven on a Ray Allen 3-pointer. Hayward's 3-pointer with 4:50 remaining - Utah's first field goal in over 6 1/2 minutes - stemmed the tide, and he added a pivotal 14-footer with 40 seconds left that put the game out of reach.
