Dwyane Wade scored 11 of his 24 points in the final 4:50 as Miami overcame a late charge from visiting Cleveland and posted its 11th straight victory.

LeBron James collected 28 points and eight assists and Mario Chalmers added 16 points for the Heat, who were playing their fourth game in five days since returning from the All-Star break.

Rookie Dion Waiters scored 26 points, C.J. Miles had 19 and Kyrie Irving chipped in 17 as the Cavaliers were denied in their bid for a third straight win.

Miami shot 57.5 percent in the first half to take a 64-46 lead into the break and hit the first two shots of the third quarter to push the lead to 22 points. The lead was still 17 points midway through the third when Cleveland began to take control, ending the quarter with a 22-4 burst to take an 82-81 lead into the final frame.

Miles, who hit three straight 3-pointers and scored the final 12 points of the third quarter, hit another 3-pointer to give the Cavaliers a 97-89 cushion with 5:16 left in the game before the Heat stormed back. Wade scored nine points during an 11-2 run and assisted on Shane Battier’s 3-pointer that gave Miami a 103-101 edge with 1:27 to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: James improved to 8-1 against his former team since joining Miami. … The Heat will attempt to match their longest winning streak of the James-Wade-Chris Bosh era when they host the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday. … Cleveland G Omri Casspi remained in the hospital on Sunday after undergoing appendix surgery. Casspi was taken to the hospital in Orlando on Saturday after complaining of abdominal pain.
