Jerai Grant keyed a second-half run to lead Clemson to a 69-54 victory over South Carolina State on Friday in a non-conference matchup at LittleJohn Coliseum.
Clemson (5-1) led 32-26 at the half and pulled away right after the break.
The Tigers went on a 10-0 run in the first 3:06 of the second half. Grant scored six of his 16 points during the spurt, starting it with a tip in and capping it with a layup to put Clemson ahead 42-26.
Milton Jennings scored 16 points, Demontez Stitt added 14 and Grant had eight rebounds and three blocked shots for the Tigers.
Khalif Toombs scored 13 points to lead the Bulldogs (2-3). Tyron Williams scored 11 points and Presano Bell added 10 for South Carolina State, which was outrebounded 33-24.
Clemson is 5-1 for the second straight season and improved to 10-1 against South Carolina State of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
