Gary Franklin had 13 points and four assists to lead host California to a 74-62 victory over UC Davis Wednesday.
The Golden Bears (4-2) scored 44 and 46 points in losses to Notre Dame and Boston College at the Old Spice Classic in Orlando, but regrouped against the Aggies (3-5).
Bak Bak had 12 points and six rebounds, and Markhuri Sanders-Frison scored 10 points on 5-for-5 shooting from the floor.
Forward Joe Harden scored a game-high 27 points for UC Davis, which hung around, but couldn’t get any closer than six points.
The Golden Bears' offense has been far more effective at home. In three games at Haas Pavilion, Cal is averaging 81 points per game, compared to 49 elsewhere.
Cal travels to Iowa State Saturday for its first true road game of the season. The game is part of the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Challenge.
