Derrick Williams scored 16 points, helping Arizona earn a measure of revenge with an 83-60 victory over Oklahoma on Sunday. Solomon Hill had 10 points for the Wildcats (7-1), who have won two straight since an 87-79 loss to No. 6 Kansas on Saturday.
Arizona exacted some payback against Oklahoma for last season’s 79-62 blowout defeat in Norman. The Wildcats turned the tables by hitting 11 of 17 3-pointers and shooting 55 percent (29 of 53) from the field.
Arizona opened the game with a 15-5 run and never let up, leading 40-28 after 20 minutes. The lead ballooned to as much as 21 in the second half.
Andrew Fitzgerald had 22 points for the Sooners (3-5), who have lost five straight.
Oklahoma has been struggling, but that was to be expected from a team that lost its top four scorers from last season’s squad that finished 13-18.
