Doron Lamb hit seven 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 32 points, as No. 14 Kentucky easily downed Winthrop, 89-52, Wednesday at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ken.
Lamb went 11-of-12 from the field, including 7-of-8 from the 3-point range, as Kentucky (9-2) won its fourth game in a row. Brandon Knight added 21 points and five rebounds for the Wildcats, and Terrence Jones chipped in 11 points and six boards.
Kentucky established command early, starting off with a 10-2 run in the first three minutes of play. Knight had seven of his points during that stretch. Kentucky was 33-of-63 (52.4 percent) from the field and 12-of-22 (54.5 percent) from the perimeter.
Winthrop (5-7) was 22-of-69 (31.9 percent) from the field and only 3-of-13 (23.1 percent) from 3-point range and suffered its fourth loss in five games.
Matt Morgan led Winthrop with 18 points and seven rebounds. Reggie Middleton added 13 points and seven boards, and Charles Corbin had 10 points to go with seven rebounds.
