No. 17 Louisville stunned Marquette with a dramatic 71-70 comeback victory Saturday on the Cardinals' home court.

Kyle Kuric hit a lay-up off a nice pass from Preston Knowles with four seconds left to cap a remarkable rally by the Cardinals (14-3, 3-1 Big East).

Marquette was up 17 with eight minutes to play before Knowles got hot and hit a flurry of 3-pointers. Knowles made all five of his 3-pointers in the final seven minutes as the Cardinals closed with a 27-9 run.

Trailing by one with 20 seconds to play, Knowles penetrated the lane, drew in the Eagles’ defense before finding Kuric wide open under the basket for the game-winner.

Marquette’s Jimmy Butler got a good look on the Eagles' ensuing possession, but his foul-line jumper was off.

Knowles finished with a team-high 17 points, 15 coming during the decisive rally. Kuric and Stephan Van Treese each added 10 for the Cardinals, who were playing without leading rebounder Rakeem Buckles. Buckles is out with a broken finger and isn't expected back until February.

In a matchup between the two highest scoring teams in the Big East, the Eagles (12-6, 3-2 Big East) got to the foul line a season-high 38 times. Marquette made 28 free throws, seven more than Louisville even attempted.

Darius Johnson-Odom led three Eagles in double figures with 16.
