D.J. Gay scored 14 of his 20 points in the first half and No. 6 San Diego State extended its school record win streak to 20 games Wednesday with a 68-55 win over visiting Air Force.
Kawhi Leonard recorded his third straight double-double and 13th of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Aztecs (20-0, 5-0 Mountain West), who are 5-0 in conference play for the first time in 41 Division I seasons.
San Diego State owns the nation's longest winning streak and is one of three remaining undefeated teams in the country.
Tom Fow scored 21 points, including four 3-pointers, and Derek Brooks added eight for Air Force (10-7, 1-3), which lost its third straight. The Falcons were outrebounded 36-20, and leading scorer Michael Lyons (averaging 13.4 points) finished with just seven points.
Leading 34-30 at halftime, San Diego State pushed the edge to 13 after Billy White’s three-point play with 4:17 remaining. White finished with 12 points, including two 3-pointers. The Aztecs were 10 of 25 (40 percent) from beyond the arc, with Gay making 6 of 11.
