Clemson beat one of the nation's top defensive teams at its own game, using a tenacious defensive effort to hand visiting Florida State a 62-44 loss Saturday at Littlejohn Coliseum.

The Tigers (15-6, 4-3 ACC) forced 21 turnovers -- 14 in the first half -- and held the Seminoles scoreless for several long stretches. Florida State (15-6, 5-2 ACC) shot 32.7 percent from the field, including 4 of 17 from 3-point range.

Jerai Grant had 14 points and eight rebounds to lead Clemson, and Demontez Stitt added 12 points and six assists. Grant has scored in double figures in 13 of the past 14 games. Devin Booker and Andre Young scored nine apiece for the Tigers.

The Seminoles won the season's first meeting 75-69 in Tallahassee to open ACC play Dec. 12, but the Tigers wasted no time exacting revenge Saturday. They broke it open with an 11-0 run early in the first half and never trailed.

Chris Singleton and Bernard James scored eight points apiece to lead Florida State. Seminoles guard Deividas Dulkys, who scored a team-high 17 points in the first meeting, was held scoreless in 19 minutes.
