Brockeith Pane scored 18 points to lead No. 21 Utah State to a 67-45 victory over visiting Nevada on Wednesday.
Brady Jardine had 14 points and nine rebounds as the Aggies (21-2, 10-0 Western Athletic) won their 16th consecutive contest and established a new school record with their 24th consecutive league win.
Deonte Burton scored 11 points for Nevada (8-14, 5-4), which had its four-game winning streak snapped.
Utah State led by just 29-28 at halftime but broke the game open with a 21-6 run over the first nine minutes of the second half. The Aggies led by as many as 24 points in the second half.
Utah State’s winning streak is third-longest in the country behind Ohio State (22) and Coastal Carolina (18).
Pane and Jardine each made 6 of 10 shots from the field.
Nevada shot just 32.7 percent from the field and made just 2-of-17 3-point shots.
Utah State’s previous 23-game conference winning streak occurred during the 1999-2000 and 2000-01 seasons when the school played in the Big West Conference.
