Jerai Grant scored 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting and Demontez Stitt added 16 as Clemson stayed on the NCAA Tournament bubble with a 77-69 victory over Boston College on Tuesday.
Andre Young chipped in 15 points and five assists off the bench for the Tigers (17-7, 6-4 ACC), who get No. 21 North Carolina at home on Saturday looking for a signature win to impress the selection committee.
Reggie Jackson scored 27 points and Joe Trapani added 22 for the Eagles (15-9, 5-5), who have dropped five of seven and are fading out of the NCAA Tournament picture.
Jackson and Trapani combined to give Boston College the lead in the first half, 20-15, but a 9-3 run to close the half gave Clemson a 30-27 lead at the break. The Eagles would score the first basket of the second half but never managed to take the lead again, falling behind by as much as 50-34 when Young hit a 3-pointer with 14:26 left.
Boston College would cut it to single digits with a 10-0 run but Young scored seven points in the final 3:19 to keep the Tigers clear.
