Jon Leuer finished with 19 points and 15 rebounds and No. 14 Wisconsin overcame a horrendous start to escape with a 62-59 overtime victory at Iowa on Wednesday night.
Tim Jarmusz hit a 3-pointer with 1:34 left in the extra session to put the Badgers (18-5, 8-3 Big Ten) in front for good and Leuer's jump shot gave the visitors a seemingly safe 61-57 cushion.
Iowa (10-14, 3-9) got within two on a Bryce Cartwright basket and had a shot to tie the game at the buzzer, but Cartwright's 3-pointer fell short.
Wisconsin twice overcame second-half deficits and forced overtime when Jordan Taylor hit a long jumper with 29 seconds remaining. Cartwright's potential game-winner at the end of regulation rimmed out with one second to go.
Taylor added 16 points for the Badgers, who hit just 6 of 33 field-goal attempts (18.2 percent) in the first half. Iowa got double-doubles from Melsahn Basabe (13 points, 11 rebounds) and Jarryd Cole (10 points, 12 boards).
