Kevin Anderson scored 22 points, and Justin Harper added 18 points and nine rebounds as Richmond upset No. 25 Temple 58-54 in the Atlantic 10 tournament semifinals Saturday at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.
Harper scored the last field goal of the game on a tip-in with 3:49 left for a 55-54 lead and the Spiders made 3-of-4 free throws to seal it. Kevin Smith had 14 rebounds for third-seeded Richmond (26-7), which has won 10 of its last 11 games and will face Dayton in Sunday's final.
Khalif Wyatt led second seed Temple (25-7) with 15 points. Lavoy Allen had 12 points and 10 assists, Ramone Moore 11 points and Juan Fernandez seven points and 10 assists for the Owls, whose streak of three straight A-10 tournament titles came to an end.
Richmond trailed by as much as nine in the first half, but Harper and Anderson combined for 23 points as the Spiders closed to within 31-30 at halftime. Wyatt had nine points for the Owls, who made five of their first seven 3-point tries but finished 7 for 25.
