CHICAGO – JaJuan Johnson had 16 points and 16 rebounds, and E’Twaun Moore scored 19 points as No. 3 seed Purdue breezed past 14th-seeded Saint Peters 65-43 in the second round of the Southwest Regional on Friday.

Lewis Jackson added 12 points and six rebounds for Purdue (26-7), which outrebounded Saint Peters 43-27 and led by as many as 27 in the second half. The Boilermakers, who have reached the Sweet 16 each of the past two seasons, will play Virginia Commonwealth in the Round of 32 on Sunday.

Jeron Belin had 12 points for Saint Peter’s (20-14), which earned its third NCAA tournament appearance and first since 1995 by winning the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament.

Purdue entered the tournament on a two-game losing streak and was without key reserve Kelsey Barlow (suspension), but the Boilermakers got back on track by holding the Peacocks to 29.8 percent shooting from the floor.

Saint Peter's had more turnovers (eight) than field goals (seven) in the first half and trailed 33-17. The Peacocks registered the lowest halftime point total of any tournament team thus far.
