Herb Pope had 17 points and 10 rebounds to power Seton Hall to a 73-62 victory over visiting Yale on Tuesday.
Seton Hall (4-1) improved to 37-20 versus Ivy League programs and is 26-7 in November over the past six seasons.
Yale (2-2) fell to 1-3 all-time against the Pirates in the first meeting since 1943.
Pope followed a massive dunk down the lane with a block and assist to spark a 13-2 run for the Pirates, who took a 15-point lead with five minutes remaining in the second half.
Pope was also a force on the defensive end with three blocks and three steals.
Fuquan Edwin led Seton Hall with 20 points and added seven rebounds. Jordan Theodore chipped in with 13 points.
Yale hung with Seton Hall for most of the game thanks to its smart shooting. However, the well went dry from beyond the arc as the Bulldogs finished 6-for-19. Yale entered the game shooting 40 percent from 3-point range.
Jeremiah Kreisberg had 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Ivy League Preseason Player of the Year Greg Mangano added 14 points and five rebounds for Yale.
