Jeremy Lamb led the way with 18 points and six rebounds as No. 9 Connecticut held off visiting No. 24 Harvard, 67-53, on Thursday.
Freshman Andre Drummond added 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting and four rebounds for the Huskies (8-1), who improved to 116-4 against non-conference opponents from New England since coach Jim Calhoun took over the program.
The Crimson, who are the first Ivy League team to be nationally ranked in 13 years, hung with Connecticut in the first half, closing to within 30-28, at the break.
Harvard went cold from the floor out of the half, missing its first six shots and going scoreless through the first 3:51 as the Huskies stretched it to 36-28,
Lamb made a pair of jumpers and freshman Ryan Boatright hit a 3-pointer to key an 11-0 run and push the lead to 47-31 with 12:20 left.
The Crimson (8-1) would close back to within eight points but never made a serious run in their first ever outing as a ranked team. Harvard ended up shooting 31 percent (8 of 26) in the second half.
Kyle Casey scored 12 points to lead the Crimson.
