Josh Terry scored a game-high 19 points, including the go-ahead layup with 1:05 remaining, to help Austin Peay upset Tennessee 74-70 on Saturday.
Terry made 6 of 10 from the field and 8 of 10 from the free throw line, as Austin Peay (2-9) defeated the Vols for the first time in nine tries.
Tyshwan Edmondson scored 19, including a layup with 15.7 seconds that put the Governors up by three. John Fraley, who had missed three weeks with an injury, scored 12 and had a team-high five rebounds.
Tennessee (3-5) lost its third straight game. The Vols were led by Jeronne Maymon with 19 points and nine rebounds and Jordan McRae scored 14. Kenny Hall had 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Austin Peay used a 21-6 run in the second half to overcome Tennessee, which led 37-30 at the half. The Govs have now won back-to-back games and losing nine straight to start the season.
