Jared Sullinger had 18 points and 11 rebounds, and No. 2 Ohio State used a solid defensive effort to ease past visiting Lamar 70-50 on Tuesday.
Sullinger, whose status was uncertain after he suffered a bone bruise in his foot during Saturday's game at South Carolina, played 30 minutes and helped the Buckeyes (11-1) to a 34-22 scoring edge in the paint.
Ohio State, which made only 8 of its 19 free throws, struggled early on offense but still built a 34-21 halftime lead by holding Lamar to 30.8 shooting (8-for-26) in the opening period.
The Cardinals (8-4) also missed all 12 of their 3-point attempts, including eight in the first half.
Deshaun Thomas added 16 points for the Buckeyes.
Stan Brown and Devon Lamb paced Lamar with 10 points apiece, and Brown also had 10 rebounds.
