Carlon Brown had a team-high 19 points, including a critical 3-pointer late, as Colorado held on for a 64-63 victory over visiting Arizona on Saturday.
Freshman Spencer Dinwiddie finished with 13 points and Austin Dufault added 12 points and six rebounds for the Buffaloes (13-6, 5-2 Pac-12), who have won eight of their last 10 and are 5-0 at home in the conference.
After Kevin Parrom hit a jumper to put Arizona ahead 63-61 with 1:39 left, Brown responded 20 seconds later with a 3-pointer on the other end to give Colorado a one-point lead.
With a chance to win on their final possession, Parrom misfired on a 3-point attempt in the closing seconds and Arizona couldn’t get off another shot as time expired.
Jesse Perry finished with a game-high 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats (13-7, 4-3), who shot only 34.5 percent from the field and converted only 3 of 20 from long range.
Solomon Hill, Arizona’s leading scorer, finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds and Josiah Turner added nine points for Arizona, which allowed a Pac-12 opponent to shoot better than 40 percent for the first time this season.
Arizona led 39-35 at halftime, but Colorado regained the lead five minutes into the second half at 42-41. From there, the Buffaloes never led by more than five points the rest of the way.
