Tony Mitchell scored four of his 14 points in the second overtime to lift Alabama to a 69-67 victory over visiting Ole Miss on Saturday.
It was the biggest offensive output for Mitchell since Jan. 7 and his third straight game in double figures. He added four rebounds for the Crimson Tide (15-7, 4-4 SEC), which won their third straight game and improved to 10-2 at the Coleman Coliseum.
Alabama’s JaMychal Green had 16 points and 12 rebounds, his fourth double-double of the season, before fouling out.
Ole Miss (14-8, 4-4 lost its second straight game despite getting 19 points from Nick Williams and 14 from Terrance Henry. Reginald Buckner had 11 points and eight rebounds before fouling out in the first overtime.
Alabama played for the last shot of the game and Levi Randolph missed a baseline jumper at the buzzer, leaving the game tied 54-54 at the end of regulation.
The Tide had a five-point lead in the first overtime, but Ole Miss evened the scored when Williams hit back-to-back baskets, the second one a 3-pointer, and the game stayed tied 61-61.
