No. 6 North Carolina State 94, Massachusetts 76: Freshman T.J. Warren came off the bench to score 21 points as the Wolfpack routed the Minutemen in the semifinal round of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off at Bayamon.

Richard Howell added 19 points and nine rebounds to join Warren and three others in double figures for North Carolina State (3-0), which will meet Oklahoma State in the championship game of this event on Sunday.

C.J. Leslie and Rodney Purvis combined for nine points as the Wolfpack – who never trailed – opened the game on a 12-2 run.

Although Jesse Morgan answered with a pair of 3-pointers during a small rally to move Massachusetts (2-1) to within 16-14, Warren scored all 13 of his first-half points over the remainder of the half as North Carolina State entered the break with 48-32 advantage. The Wolfpack stretched the lead to as many as 27 points late in the game.

Morgan finished with 15 points for the Minutemen, who committed 17 turnovers.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Preseason All-Atlantic Coast Conference guard Lorenzo Brown rebounded from a poor game against Penn State in the first round with 11 points and 10 assists against Massachusetts. … Chaz Williams appeared to tweak his ankle late in the first half, but played most of the second half. … Warren has scored 43 points in the Wolfpack’s first two games of this event after an eight-point debut against Miami (Ohio).
