No 18. Texas 59, Texas Christian 54: Jonathan Holmes scored 17 of his game-high 20 points in the second half and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds as the visiting Longhorns survived a scare from the Horned Frogs.

Cameron Ridley added 12 points and nine boards for Texas (18-4, 7-2 Big 12), which won its seventh straight game despite shooting 31 percent from the field. Isaiah Taylor collected 11 points and seven assists for the Longhorns, who finished 18-of-26 from the free-throw line.

Amric Fields led the way with 16 points, eight rebounds and three blocks for Texas Christian (9-12, 0-9), which has dropped its last nine games. Kyan Anderson contributed 12 points and seven assists while Brandon Parrish scored 10 points for the Horned Frogs, who shot 32.7 percent from the floor.

TCU missed 10 of its first 11 shots and found itself down 13-4 before Fields keyed a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to two midway through the first half. The Horned Frogs forced 10 Texas turnovers in the opening 20 minutes and scored the final six points of the half to go up 22-20.

Ridley's baby hook gave the Longhorns their biggest lead of the game at 44-37 before Karviar Shepherd sparked a 6-0 spurt to close the gap to one with less than six minutes remaining. Holmes knocked down a clutch triple to put Texas on top 55-52 and Ridley nailed four straight free throws down the stretch to seal the win for the Longhorns.
