Junior forward Aaron Ross made a clutch 3-pointer and two later free throws to help Texas Tech escape with a 76-69 victory over TCU on Monday night at Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

Ross came off the bench to score 16 points for Texas Tech (12-5, 2-4 Big 12). Sophomore forward Justin Gray added 14 points. Sophomore forward Zach Smith had six points, nine rebounds, five assists and five blocked shots.

Sophomore guard Chauncey Collins scored 19 points to lead TCU (9-9, 1-5). Sophomore forward Vladimir Brodziansky had 18 points and six rebounds.

Texas Tech staged a 12-2 run to take a 34-23 lead in the opening half. TCU cut the deficit to one with just over a minute left before the break, but the Red Raiders scored the next six points to take a 42-35 lead into the locker room.

The Red Raiders went up 46-37 early in the second half and took a 63-52 lead on two free throws by sophomore guard Keenan Evans later in the half. The Horned Frogs stormed back with a 9-0 run to take a 68-67 lead with 3:02 remaining, but Ross answered with a 3-pointer to put the Red Raiders back on top.
