Mitchell completed 25-of-42 passes and Kamar Jorden caught 10 of them - including the decisive touchdown - for a career-best 249 yards as the Stampeders (8-1) defeated the Blue Bombers for the eighth time in nine meetings. Marken Michel (five receptions, 68 yards) and DaVaris Daniels (seven, 67) also hauled in TD passes for Calgary, which improved to 5-0 at home.

Winnipeg's Matt Nichols was 29-of-44 for 258 yards and a late touchdown to Darvin Adams but was intercepted twice as he lost for the eighth time in eight tries as a starter against the Stampeders. Backup Chris Streveler threw a scoring pass to Ryan Lankford (three catches, 73 yards) and Drew Wolitarsky made eight catches for 90 yards to lead the Blue Bombers (5-5).

Streveler faked a quarterback sneak and hit Lankford across the middle for a 65-yard touchdown to open the scoring as Winnipeg built a 9-3 lead after one quarter. Justin Medlock sandwiched field goals of 39 and 45 yards around a 20-yard touchdown pass from Mitchell to Daniels before Rene Paredes helped Calgary close within 15-12 at halftime by converting a 42-yard kick with 49 seconds left.

Mitchell lofted a 25-yard scoring strike to Michel to give the Stampeders the lead going into the fourth quarter and Paredes extended the advantage to 22-15 with a 24-yard field goal with 8:59 to go. Paredes added a 45-yarder to push the lead to 10 and Medlock countered from 23 yards out, but Mitchell's 68-yard touchdown pass to Jorden with 1:41 left sealed things before Ja'Gared Davis intercepted his second pass of the game and returned it 35 yards for a score.
