Blue Bombers 29, Stampeders 21: Matt Nichols threw for a season-high 358 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Winnipeg pulled away from visiting Calgary in the second half to clinch a playoff spot.

Nichols completed 24-of-33 passes en route to his first victory in nine starts against the Stampeders and Andrew Harris accumulated 130 yards from scrimmage for the Blue Bombers (10-7), who extended their winning streak to five games. Darvin Adams hauled in five passes for 126 yards and a touchdown while Drew Wolitarsky added a 60-yard TD reception as Winnipeg posted its first home win against Calgary since 2009.

Bo Levi Mitchell was 22-of-35 for 274 yards and a touchdown for the Stampeders (12-5), who failed to clinch the West Division title for the third consecutive week. Chris Matthews caught five passes for 113 yards against his former team and Markeith Ambles had six receptions for 67 yards and a score for Calgary, which has dropped three straight contests.

Rene Paredes kicked a 43-yard field goal on the opening possession for the only points of the first quarter before Justin Medlock converted a 13-yard attempt to even the contest. Matthews hauled in a 65-yard pass, which led to Nick Arbuckle's 2-yard touchdown run and Paredes hit a 31-yarder to give Calgary a 12-6 advantage at halftime.

Adams caught a 50-yard touchdown pass to help put Winnipeg in front 13-12 before Mitchell threw a 1-yard scoring strike to Ambles, but Nichols found a wide-open Wolitarsky for a 60-yard TD as the Blue Bombers grabbed a 19-18 lead. Chris Streveler scored on a 2-yard quarterback sneak and Medlock kicked a 13-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter to stretch the advantage to 29-18, and the Blue Bombers stopped Calgary on 3rd-and-goal with 2:49 remaining to lock up a postseason berth.
