Chris Matthews made three catches for 67 yards and Markeith Ambles hauled in a TD pass as Calgary built a large lead in the first half before cruising to victory.

Jonathon Jennings was 16-of-21 for 140 yards while Travis Lulay recorded 111 yards on 10-of-16 passing for BC (9-9), which will cross over to face Hamilton in the East Division semifinal Nov. 11. Cody Fajardo ran for a touchdown and DeVier Posey had four receptions for 62 yards for the Lions in the final home game for coach Wally Buono, who will retire at the conclusion of the season.

Calgary took a lead it would never relinquish just over five minutes into the game as Rene Paredes converted a 52-yard field-goal attempt. Paredes booted a 27-yarder to double the advantage and Jackson made it 12-0 with a 1-yard touchdown run on the final play of the first quarter.

Mitchell connected with Ambles for a 10-yard score late in the second and Paredes made 37- and 32-yard kicks in the last 36 seconds of the period as the Stampeders carried a 25-0 lead into intermission. The Lions finally got on the board with a safety late in the third quarter and Fajardo scored on a 1-yard run early in the fourth, but it was too little, too late as the club finished with a 7-2 home record.
