Mitchell completed 17-of-31 passes while Don Jackson gained 83 yards on 14 carries for the Stampeders (14-5), who will face Ottawa in the championship game on Nov. 25. Eric Rogers hauled in six passes for 61 yards and three touchdowns for Calgary, which will be making its fourth Grey Cup appearance in five years.

Matt Nichols was limited to 156 yards on 15-of-32 passing for the Blue Bombers (11-9), who haven't won a playoff game in Calgary since 1965. Andrew Harris rushed for 71 yards and Darvin Adams finished with five receptions for 64 yards for Winnipeg, which couldn't overcome 10 penalties for 98 yards.

Justin Medlock drilled a 57-yard field goal to set the CFL record for the longest in playoff history before tacking on a 37-yarder to put Winnipeg on top 6-0 after one quarter. Mitchell threw a 12-yard scoring strike to Rogers, which capped a 15-play, 92-yard drive, and the duo hooked up again for an 8-yard touchdown with 1:46 left in the second quarter to help the Stampeders take a 14-6 lead into halftime.

Calgary intentionally conceded a safety and Medlock converted a 41-yard attempt with 3:33 remaining in the third quarter as Winnipeg closed the gap to 14-11. Rogers made an acrobatic catch for a 10-yard TD with 3:27 to go that put the Stampeders in front by 10 points before Medlock kicked a 37-yard field goal with 38 seconds left to make it a one-possession game, but Alex Singleton recovered the ensuing onside kick to seal the victory and set up a rematch of the 2016 Grey Cup.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Calgary RB/KR Romar Morris was carted off the field with a suspected torn Achilles in the second quarter. … Medlock's 57-yard field goal broke the previous record set by Bernie Ruoff (56 yards) in 1984. … Rogers has registered eight career playoff touchdowns. … Mitchell became the fifth player in league history to win a playoff game in five straight years.
