Tiger-Cats 13, Lions 10: Dane Evans threw for 194 yards and David Watford rushed for a touchdown as visiting Hamilton completed a season sweep of BC for the first time since 2012.
Evans was 17-of-31 with a pair of interceptions and Cameron Marshall rushed for 66 yards on 13 carries for the Tiger-Cats (8-2), who have won three consecutive games. Jaelon Acklin hauled in six passes for 91 yards and Bralon Addison gained 61 yards on seven receptions for Hamilton, which opened an eight-point lead atop of the East Division.
Mike Reilly completed 21-of-31 passes for 286 yards and a touchdown but threw two costly interceptions as the Lions fell to 1-9 for the first time since 1969. Wayne Moore accounted for 96 yards from scrimmage after John White suffered a leg injury and Bryan Burnham caught a touchdown pass for BC, which surrendered seven sacks - three by Dylan Wynn.
Rico Murray picked off a pass by Reilly in the end zone to quash a promising drive and Lirim Hajrullahu missed a 40-yard field-goal attempt during a scoreless first quarter. Moore turned a screen pass into a 50-yard gain, which set up a 45-yard field goal by Sergio Castillo that gave BC a 3-0 lead before Hajrullahu atoned for his previous miss by drilling a 52-yarder on the final play of the first half.
The Tiger-Cats snuffed out a fake punt by the Lions that led to a 1-yard touchdown run by Watford with 5:26 remaining in the third quarter and Richard Leonard intercepted a pass in the end zone to maintain the 10-3 advantage heading into the final 15 minutes. Hajrullahu made no mistake from 29 yards with 4:32 remaining to put Hamilton in front by 10 points before Reilly threw a 3-yard scoring strike to Burnham with 31 seconds left, but Mike Daly recovered the ensuing onside kick to seal another win for the East Division leader.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Hamilton DE Adrian Tracy, who has recorded three sacks this season, suffered a shoulder injury in pregame warmups and did not play. … Reilly became the 17th player in CFL history to reach 30,000 passing yards for his career. … Evans improved to 3-1 as the starter since Jeremiah Masoli went down on July 26 with a season-ending knee injury. …. Lions WR Shaq Johnson made five catches for 75 yards.
