Lions 55, Argonauts 8: Mike Reilly threw for 276 yards and a career-high five touchdowns as host BC trounced Toronto to keep alive its playoff hopes.

Reilly completed 21-of-27 passes and short-yardage quarterback Danny O'Brien added two rushing touchdowns for the Lions (5-10), who moved within four points of Edmonton in the race for the crossover playoff spot. Bryan Burnham hauled in eight passes for 145 yards and three TDs while John White gained 121 yards on 20 carries for BC, which has won four consecutive games for the first time since July 2017.

James Franklin was limited to 32 yards on 6-of-9 passing with an interception before being pulled in the third quarter for the Argonauts (2-12), who officially have been eliminated from playoff contention. McLeod Bethel-Thompson was 9-of-14 for 94 yards with a touchdown pass to Armanti Edwards as Toronto lost for the 15th time in 16 road games.

Sergio Castillo kicked a 21-yard field goal and Reilly fired 14- and 25-yard touchdown passes to Burnham after two Toronto turnovers to help the Lions race out to a 17-0 lead after one quarter. Castillo converted a 12-yard kick and O'Brien scored on two 1-yard sneaks in the final 2:01 of the second quarter as BC built a commanding 34-0 halftime advantage.

Shaq Johnson caught a 21-yard touchdown pass to cap a 10-play drive and Burnham made an acrobatic 31-yard TD catch with 1:56 remaining in the third quarter as the Lions pulled away. Reilly found Duron Carter for a 25-yard score before Edwards' 27-yard touchdown reception with six seconds remaining spoiled BC's shutout bid.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Burnham, who leads the CFL in receiving yards (1,300), has caught five touchdown passes in his last three games. … Toronto WR Derel Walker hauled in two passes for 21 yards to reach 1,000 receiving yards for the third time in his career. … Burnham has registered six 100-yard receiving performances this season. … The Argonauts have lost nine of their 10 games against West Division opponents this year.
