Roughriders 27, Eskimos 24: Cody Fajardo threw for 429 yards and Brett Lauther kicked a 43-yard field goal as time expired to lift visiting Saskatchewan past Edmonton.

Fajardo completed 25-of-35 passes with a pair of touchdowns and Marcus Thigpen added a rushing score for the Roughriders (12-5), who took sole possession of first place in the West Division with one regular-season game remaining. Kyran Moore hauled in 10 passes for 159 yards and a TD while Shaq Evans gained 174 yards on six receptions as Saskatchewan overcame a 14-point deficit to clinch a home playoff berth.

Trevor Harris was 27-of-37 for 321 yards and a touchdown but threw a pair of interceptions after missing the previous four games for the Eskimos (8-9), who have dropped five of their last six contests against West Division rivals. Ricky Collins Jr. made five catches for 99 yards while Tevaun Smith had seven receptions for 92 yards and a score for Edmonton, which will face Montreal in the Eastern semifinal on Nov. 10.

Calvin McCarty rushed for a pair of 1-yard touchdowns, the second coming after Mike Moore recovered a fumble deep in Saskatchewan territory as Edmonton held a 14-0 lead after one quarter. Thigpen banged his way into the end zone from 3 yards out to pull the Roughriders within seven points before Sean Whyte kicked a 23-yard field goal with five seconds left in the second quarter to give the Eskimos a 17-7 advantage at intermission.

Fajardo threw a 25-yard scoring strike to Kyran Moore as Saskatchewan closed the gap to three points and L.J. McCray's interception led to Manny Arceneaux's 5-yard touchdown catch with 2:21 left in the third quarter that put the visitors ahead 21-17. Lauther booted a 30-yarder to stretch the Roughriders' advantage to seven before Smith caught a 12-yard TD pass with 1:48 remaining to level the score, but Lauther made no mistake on the final play to put Saskatchewan on the cusp of its first division title in 10 years.
