Roughriders 23, Eskimos 13: Isaac Harker threw for 213 yards and Brett Lauther kicked the go-ahead 11-yard field goal with 1:30 left as Saskatchewan defeated visiting Edmonton to clinch its first West Division title since 2009.

Harker completed 23 of 28 passes, subbing for starter Cody Fajardo (oblique), and Cameron Judge sealed the verdict on a 29-yard interception return with 1:13 to go for the Roughriders (13-5), who have won their most games since 1970. William Powell finished with 68 yards from scrimmage while Kyran Moore gained 43 yards on five catches as Saskatchewan won its seventh consecutive home game and is set to host the West Division final on Nov. 17.

Logan Kilgore went 12 of 22 through the air for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns in place of rested starter Trevor Harris for the Eskimos (8-10), who cross over to play at Montreal in the East Division semifinal on Nov. 10. Top receivers Greg Ellingson and Ricky Collins Jr. were rested while Tevaun Smith (five catches, 83 yards) and Kevin Elliott caught touchdown passes for Edmonton, which finished the regular season under .500 for the first time since 2013.

Lauther connected on a 49-yard field goal to open the scoring and Marcus Thigpen barged his way up the middle for a 4-yard touchdown to give the Roughriders a 10-0 lead after one quarter. Sean Whyte missed a field goal attempt from 45 yards after Saskatchewan turned the ball over on downs in its own territory, but Lauther could not add to the lead after his try from 47 yards was wide left midway through the second quarter.

Kilgore found Smith for a 14-yard scoring strike on the fourth play from scrimmage in the second half and, after the Eskimos conceded a safety, a roughing-the-passer penalty kept a drive alive to set up Elliott's 7-yard TD catch late in the third quarter for a 13-12 lead. Lauther missed a 32-yard field goal, but it turned into a single to tie the game early in the fourth, and Harker completed three passes for 48 yards on the drive that set up Lauther's field goal to make it 16-13.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Moore finished the regular season with 996 yards receiving and fellow Roughriders WR Naaman Roosevelt (946) also came up short of joining teammate Shaq Evans (1,334) as 1,000-yard receivers. ... Edmonton RB C.J. Gable, who earned his second straight 1,000-yard rushing season after a revision was made to his total (now 1,001) this week, missed his third straight game due to a knee injury. … Saskatchewan DL A.C. Leonard had a pair of sacks and a fumble recovery. … Eskimos KR Christion Jones was lost for the season with a leg injury in the last game. … Roughriders DL Charleston Hughes recorded his 130th career sack Saturday, moving within one of passing Vince Goldsmith (130.5) for seventh all time in the CFL.
