Ducks 3, Avalanche 0: Viktor Fasth turned aside all 31 shots he faced for his first NHL shutout and defenseman Francois Beauchemin scored in his 500th career game as visiting Anaheim recorded its fourth straight victory.

Saku Koivu netted a 5-on-3 goal and added his team-leading eighth assist. Defenseman Sheldon Souray scored for the third straight contest and Teemu Selanne notched his 750th career assist for the Ducks, who opened their six-game road trip in stellar fashion.

Fasth, who was making his first start away from the Honda Center, stopped 10 shots in each of the first two periods and 11 in the third.

After Souray's blast from just inside the blue line opened the scoring at 6:20 of the first period, Anaheim doubled the advantage over nine minutes later. Selanne skated up the right wing before wristing a centering feed which caromed off Colorado defenseman Greg Zanon and right to Koivu, who tapped it in for his second goal in as many games.

Beauchemin capped the scoring with a one-timer midway through the second period which sailed past Semyon Varlamov. The netminder finished with 17 saves for the Avalanche, who have dropped two straight at the Pepsi Center after winning their initial three home games.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Anaheim acquired D Ben Lovejoy from Pittsburgh for a fifth-round pick in the 2014 draft. Lovejoy hasn't played since being driven into the end boards by New York Islanders RW Colin McDonald on Jan. 29. ... Selanne's assist moved him into a tie for 41st place on the all-time list with Hall of Famer Larry Robinson. ... Colorado RW David Jones returned after missing two games with a knee injury.
