Maple Leafs 5, Flyers 2: Matt Frattin had a goal and an assist as host Toronto won its fourth straight game but left with some concerns in net.

James van Riemsdyk scored in his first game against his former team while captain Dion Phaneuf, Clarke MacArthur and Colton Orr added goals for the Maple Leafs, who finished the contest with Ben Scrivens in goal after James Reimer went down awkwardly moving across the crease early in the second period. Reimer stopped 12 of 13 shots before exiting and Scrivens made 32 saves.

Wayne Simmonds scored 38 seconds into the game and Tye McGinn added a goal with 32 seconds remaining, but Philadelphia failed to generate anything in between despite outshooting Toronto 46-24. Ilya Bryzgalov allowed four goals on 14 shots en route to his first loss in seven career meetings with the Maple Leafs.

With the game tied 1-1 early in the second period, Orr went to the net and chipped a rebound over an outstretched Bryzgalov, and Frattin made it 3-1 just 28 seconds later by redirecting defenseman Cody Franson’s point shot past the netminder’s glove. Reimer left the game shortly thereafter, and MacArthur scored on a one-timer off a nice cross-slot saucer pass from Kadri to chase Bryzgalov.

Brian Boucher stopped nine of 10 shots in relief. Van Riemsdyk scored his team-leading eighth of the season 1:11 into the third period, driving around defenseman Luke Schenn - for whom he was traded in the offseason - and putting a backhander between Boucher’s pads.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Toronto D Mark Fraser finished the game plus-5 and is a team-leading plus-11. … Flyers C Sean Couturier, who is averaging 18:49 of ice time this season, missed the game with a case of the flu. … Maple Leafs C Leo Komarov led all skaters with five hits and leads Toronto with 48 on the season.
