Chris Stewart and Adam Cracknell each had a pair of assists for St. Louis, which can secure the No. 4 seed and home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs by beating Presidents' Trophy-winning Chicago at home on Saturday.

Rookie Sven Baertschi scored the lone goal for Calgary, which saw the Blues take control when McDonald and Steen scored 5 1/2 minutes apart in the second period for a 3-1 lead.

Reaves beat Joey MacDonald (16 saves) to open the scoring at 3:21 of the middle session, but Baertschi pulled the Flames even 4 1/2 minutes later. McDonald put St. Louis ahead to stay at the 10-minute mark and Steen made it 3-1 with a backhander during a power play with 4:33 left in the period.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Elliott won his 10th game this month, breaking the NHL record for wins in April previously held by New Jersey's Martin Brodeur. ... Baertschi has three goals and six assists during a seven-game point streak. ... Blues D Jay Bouwmeester, who was acquired from Calgary at the trade deadline, had an assist on Reaves' first goal.
