Blue Jackets 4, Blues 1: Cam Atkinson recorded a goal and an assist and Sergei Bobrovsky made 31 saves as host Columbus ended St. Louis’ six-game winning streak.

Artem Anisimov, Ryan Johansen and Marian Gaborik also scored for the Blue Jackets, who trail Detroit by two points for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk had the lone goal for the Blues, who lost for the first time this month and remained one point behind San Jose for fifth place in the West. Rookie Jake Allen stopped 15 shots but could not maintain the shutout streak he started during the last meeting with Columbus.

Shattenkirk established a 1-0 lead 86 seconds into the game for the Blues, who had not allowed a goal in over three games. Atkinson ended the streak at 215 minutes, 56 seconds when he got his stick on a deflected point shot late in the first period.

Anisimov jammed home a centering feed from the edge of the crease to give Columbus the lead and Johansen put a rebound into an open net for his second goal in as many contests with 1:24 remaining in the second period. Mark Letestu set up Gaborik on a 2-on-1 rush early in the third, and Gaborik chipped the puck over Allen for his sixth point in five games with the Blue Jackets.

GAME NOTEBOOK: G Brian Elliott had started the first three contests of the Blues’ four-game road trip, posting three consecutive shutouts. ... Letestu has recorded 17 of his 22 points at home, where the Blue Jackets improved to 13-5-5. ... Following the contest, Columbus leaves on a six-game road trip. The Blue Jackets will not play another game at Nationwide Arena until April 27 - the final day of the season.
