Preview Roundups
March 05, 2019
Xavier at Butler 6:00 PM ET
Things suddenly are looking up for Xavier, which will take aim at its sixth straight victory Tuesday when it faces Butler in American Athletic Conference play. The visiting Musketeers defeated Butler in mid-January and then lost six in a row before beginning their surprising late-season surge.
Wake Forest at Duke 7:00 PM ET
One of the ACC’s worst teams takes on one of its best as Wake Forest visits Duke on Tuesday evening in the penultimate regular-season game for both. The Demon Deacons are coming off a lopsided home loss to Syracuse, while the No. 4 Blue Devils improved their record to 2-1 without Zion Williamson following a blowout win over Miami on Saturday.
Virginia Tech at Florida State 7:00 PM ET
No. 13 Florida State has come a long way from starting the ACC season with four losses in five games, and looks to take sole possession of fourth place Tuesday night when it hosts 16th-ranked Virginia Tech. The Seminoles have won 10 of their last 11 contests and two straight after outlasting North Carolina State 78-73 on Saturday to tie Virginia Tech for fourth, which provides a double-bye in the ACC Tournament.
Nebraska at Michigan St 7:00 PM ET
No. 11 Michigan State tries to stay in the race for the Big Ten regular-season title when it hosts Nebraska in its penultimate conference contest on Tuesday. The Spartans are coming off a disappointing 63-62 loss to Indiana on Saturday that dropped them one game behind ninth-ranked Purdue for first place with two contests to play, while the Cornhuskers were embarrassed by No. 7 Michigan 82-53 on Thursday.
South Carolina at Texas A&M 7:00 PM ET

South Carolina’s hot start to SEC play has long since faded, and now it will try to stop a three-game slide when it visits Texas A&M on Tuesday. Despite the recent slump, the Gamecocks are in a five-way tie for fourth place and still have a shot at a top-four finish and a double-bye in the conference tournament.

Buffalo at Ohio 7:00 PM ET
Buffalo will attempt to lock up its second straight Mid-American Conference regular-season title Tuesday at Ohio. The No. 20 Bulls may need to beat Bowling Green at home Friday if they cannot produce a victory against the Bobcats in their final road game of the season.
Purdue at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
No. 9 Purdue looks to take a big step towards its second Big Ten regular-season championship in three years when it visits Minnesota on Tuesday. The Boilermakers blasted Ohio State 86-51 on Saturday to extend their home winning streak to 17 while taking sole possession of first place after 11th-ranked Michigan State was knocked off by Indiana. They can claim at least a share of the title by sweeping the season series with the Gophers for the second straight year.
North Carolina at Boston College 8:00 PM ET
Roy Williams is expected to be back on the sidelines Tuesday night guiding No. 3 North Carolina as it looks to stay alive in the race for the ACC regular-season crown with a visit to Boston College. The 68-year-old Williams collapsed late in the first half at Clemson on Saturday due to a bout of vertigo and did not return as the Tar Heels survived a tense finish to defeat the Tigers 81-79.
Pittsburgh at Miami-Florida 8:00 PM ET
Two of the bottom four teams in the ACC hook up on Tuesday night as Miami hosts Pittsburgh in the final home game of the regular season for the Hurricanes. Both teams were battered their last time out as Miami returns to its homecourt after an 87-57 loss at Duke, while the Panthers were dumped by conference leader Virginia 73-49.
Auburn at Alabama 9:00 PM ET
Auburn topped Mississippi State on Saturday, providing the Tigers consecutive 20-win seasons for the first time since the 1998-2000 seasons and almost assuredly locking up an NCAA Tournament berth. Auburn seeks a third straight win Tuesday and a season sweep of Alabama when it visits a Crimson Tide team that is fighting for its NCAA Tournament life.
Mississippi State at Tennessee 9:00 PM ET
Tennessee appears well on track to set a single-season school record in victories, but it will still need some help if it hopes to win the SEC outright. The fourth-ranked Volunteers hope to keep the pressure on conference co-leader LSU on Tuesday when they host Mississippi State.
Kentucky at Mississippi 9:00 PM ET
Kentucky desperately misses graduate student Reid Travis as it prepares to visit Ole Miss for an SEC game on Tuesday. Travis, who averages 11.3 points and 6.9 rebounds, hasn't played the last three games because of a knee injury - including Saturday's 71-52 loss at No. 4 Tennessee that dropped the No. 6 Wildcats out of a first-place tie in the conference and to third behind the Volunteers and No. 10 LSU.
Kansas at Oklahoma 9:00 PM ET
Oklahoma will play in front of its home crowd in Norman for the final time this season when it hosts 14th-ranked Kansas on Tuesday. The Sooners have strengthened their case for an NCAA Tournament bid by winning three of their last four games, including a 92-80 victory over West Virginia on Saturday.
East Carolina at Wichita St. 9:00 PM ET
Wichita State won for the seventh time in nine games last time out to become the first American Athletic Conference team in history to reach .500 after starting the season 1-6 as it posted a 67-55 victory over SMU. The Shockers will play in front of their home fans for the final time this season when they host East Carolina on Tuesday.
Nevada at Air Force 11:00 PM ET
With three returning All-Conference starters returning from a squad that lost in the Sweet Sixteen of last year's NCAA Tournament, Nevada seemed like a sure bet to roll to its third consecutive Mountain West regular-season title this season. But after losing two of their last four games, including a 65-58 setback at Utah State on Saturday, the 18th-ranked Wolf Pack are in second place and must win their final two games - starting with Tuesday's visit to Air Force - to earn a share of the crown.
