Preview Roundups
March 30, 2019
Florida at Boston 1:00 PM ET
The Boston Bruins have gone nearly two months without losing at home and look to keep that streak intact when they host the Florida Panthers on Saturday afternoon. It will mark the next-to-last home game of the regular season at TD Garden for the Bruins, who have won 12 straight contests at home since an overtime loss to Philadelphia on Jan. 31.
Philadelphia at Carolina 1:30 PM ET
The Carolina Hurricanes were on the fast track toward their first postseason berth since 2009 after enjoying a sublime 17-5-1 run, but the upstart club stumbled after a home-and-home sweep in their last two outings. The Hurricanes aim to regain their footing on Saturday afternoon when they host the Philadelphia Flyers at PNC Arena.
Montreal at Winnipeg 7:00 PM ET
The Winnipeg Jets find themselves clinging to first place in the Central Division, but after a disheartening loss Thursday they must rebound quickly and snap out of a two-game skid when Montreal Canadiens pay a visit Saturday. The Jets found a way to blow a two-goal lead on home ice in the final period of a 5-4 loss to the Islanders, giving up the tying and winning goals 33 seconds apart to drop to 5-5-0 in their past 10 games.
Toronto at Ottawa 7:00 PM ET
The Toronto Maple Leafs aren't looking much like a playoff team of late, with a demoralizing 6-2 setback to the NHL-worst Ottawa Senators highlighting a disastrous 3-4-2 mark in their last nine contests. The Maple Leafs bid to even their season series with their provincial rival at two victories apiece on Saturday night when they visit Canada's capital city.
Washington at Tampa Bay 7:00 PM ET
The Washington Capitals look to avoid getting swept in the season series and remain on track for a fourth straight Metropolitan Division title when they visit the NHL-best Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday night. The Capitals have dropped the first two contests against the Lightning this season, including a 5-4 overtime setback at home last week, and lead the division by three points with four games left after clinching a playoff spot Thursday.
St. Louis at New Jersey 7:00 PM ET
The St. Louis Blues missed out on a chance to move within two points of first place in the Central Division last time out and now look to gain a split on their two-game road trip against non-playoff teams when they visit the New Jersey Devils on Saturday. The Blues scored the first two goals of the game on Friday before suffering a 4-2 setback against the New York Rangers, but clinched a playoff spot later in the night after Arizona lost in a shootout.
Buffalo at NY Islanders 7:00 PM ET
Given the loss of captain and franchise icon John Tavares in the offseason, the New York Islanders have enjoyed a magical season while remaining in contention for the Metropolitan Division title. Fresh off one of the most memorable victories of the season, New York can clinch a playoff slot against the visiting Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night.
Columbus at Nashville 8:00 PM ET
The Columbus Blue Jackets are streaking at the right time, winning three consecutive contests to move into a wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. They look to extend the string of success and improve their standing when they visit the Nashville Predators on Saturday.
Vegas at San Jose 9:00 PM ET
The San Jose Sharks were fighting for first place in the Pacific Division just a few weeks ago, but now they are just trying to secure the second spot when they host the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday. The Sharks have dropped seven straight contests (0-6-1), matching their longest slide in six years, and lead Vegas by five points but have five games remaining to the Golden Knights' four.
Dallas at Vancouver 10:00 PM ET
The Dallas Stars are inching closer to wrapping up a playoff berth, but they have not taken the traditional route to get there, struggling on home ice while thriving on the road. The Stars have a chance to punch their ticket to the postseason when they attempt to complete a perfect four-game road trip Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks.
Anaheim at Edmonton 10:00 PM ET
The Edmonton Oilers have earned points in each of the first four contests of their five-game homestand, but their chances of reaching the postseason still are evaporating. Edmonton attempts to keep alive its slim hopes when it hosts the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday.
Chicago at Los Angeles 10:30 PM ET
The Chicago Blackhawks may need to run the table and receive their fair share of help if they are going to avoid missing the playoffs for the second straight season. With little margin for error, the Blackhawks are remaining optimistic heading into the finale of their three-game road trip against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night.
